Graphic Design and Other Media Services

Many of the same skills needed to create a solid website can be applied in other areas. Often, customers come to us with proposals for related projects, and we are usually able to accommodate their needs.

Otetiana Council, Boy Scouts of America: Every year, the Rochester Boy Scout council holds a youth leader training conference. For several years, we provided patch designs for this national event which draws several hundred youth leaders from around the region. Patch designs can be difficult because each color adds additional cost. We were able to bring in colorful, distinctive designs for the patches and remain well under the budget.

Kodak: The Ultimate Goal, fitness service providers for the Eastman Kodak company came to us in 2001 with a proposal to record, mix, and edit a fitness CD/Tape project. In many parts of Kodak, employees prone to Repetitive Stress Injury get paid to show up to work early and "Stretch and Flex" before starting work. Steven Smith Enterprises developed a high-energy soundtrack, dubbed a voiceover, and created a professional CD cover for a recording that is used throughout Kodak. McQuaid Jesuit High School Drama Group: Twice a year, working in conjunction with Our Lady of Mercy High School, McQuaid puts on drama productions. When a website was created, they wanted a graphic that could be used on the front page.

McQuaid Jesuit High School Development Office: Every year, McQuaid puts on a large fundraiser that helps keep the cost of tuition down. For 2004, they chose a theme that was related to Magic and the school's 50th anniversary. We were able to come up with a single color graphic for all of their marketing and for use on the front of the program passed out during the Saturday evening formal dinner.

PS&E: PS&E, a fee-based financial planning firm in Rochester, wanted to spruce up their existing website by adding a headline graphic. We were able to create a graphic that used the corporate colors and added a personal touch through the use of photos of each of the partners.

McQuaid Jesuit High School Treasurer's Office: For years, McQuaid had been using a modified daycare billing program to send invoices and keep track of billing for the school. We were able to develop a database and Graphical User Interface that allowed each member of the treasurer team to update student billing records, post payments, run reports, and send invoices -- all of it individually tailored to the needs of the school!

Sarah Mallory: Sarah wanted a video outlining her life that could be played at her High School graduation party. Steven Smith Enterprises worked with her to create a DVD containing movie clips and a still-picture slideshow that will be remembered and played for years to come.

McQuaid Jesuit High School Sophomore English Project: In early high school, as part of an English class, Steven Smith shot video, edited, and dubbed a soundtrack to create an audiovisual presentation for a group project on the Holocaust.

Nazareth College of Rochester Information Technology Office: Nazareth College was creating a Macintosh knowledgebase to offer help to its Macintosh users. They wanted to create several short video clips to walk users through basic Macintosh tasks. Steven Smith Enterprises did voiceover work and video editing, ensuring that this project was a success. Nazareth College of Rochester ITS NAZ! CD: Nazareth College wanted to create a compact disc that could be provided to new students to help them set up their computer and get connected to the campus network. While they had an extremely competent staff to work on the technical and design aspect, they needed someone with musical knowledge to help with that end of the project. Steven Smith Enterprises researched music selections, edited the purchased music, and did voiceover work for the ITS NAZ CD. Miscellaneous Adobe Photoshop Projects: Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is one of the key aspects of successful web design. Steven Smith is always working on projects to further his mastery of this and other software.
